JUST IN: Ezenwaeze Scholarship Foundation Gives-Out 1m to 5 Benefitting Students



In keeping with its promise to provide yearly Scholarship funding for five best students from Akiyi-Umulokpa in Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State who secure admissions into tertiary education in any higher institution across the country, the Ezenwaeze Scholarship Foundation, on Tuesday, December, 23th, 2024, doled out the sum of N1 million to five beneficiaries.


The exercise, which took place at the Holy Cross Parish Akiyi-Umulokpa, was the First edition of the late Ezenwaeze Foundation's  yearly scholarship scheme for best five tertiary education Students.


The grant covers students' tuition,  textbooks and other materials needed to help them go through tertiary education without the associated financial stress, which the foundation explained had been a cog in the wheels of most bright students, who couldn't make it to higher learning. 


Enugupress.ng reports that those who benefitted from the scholarship program include Chukwuma john Paul, Ezeama chioma, Benedith peace, Ogwudile ogechi, Cynthia Nduba  and cornelius chinecherem


Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Dr. Barth Nwankwo, who is Major financier of the foundation, explained that the foundation was 'dedicated to honoring the legacy of his late father, Chief Ezenwaeze Boniface, whose unwavering commitment to education inspired countless individuals in our community, Akiyi-Umulokpa.'


He however, noted that In loving memory of his late  father, Late Chief Ezenwaeze that the foundation was committed in  supporting students from  Akiyi-Umulokpa Community in their pursuit of higher education.


His words:  "Recognizing the challenges many face in accessing quality education, the foundation will provide financial assistance to deserving students throughout their university education.


"On the day of my father's burial, we awarded ₦1,000,000 in cash to five outstanding students from our community who successfully passed the JAMB examination and gained admission to university. This initiative marks the beginning of our commitment to fostering educational advancement in our community.


"Moving forward, Ezenwaeze family is pledging to sponsor five students from  Akiyi-Umulokpa Community each year throughout their university education. This sponsorship will cover tuition and other educational expenses to ensure that these students can focus on their studies without financial burden Drs. Nwankwo said. 


The 2nd Son of late Chief Ezenwaeze, Dr. Malachy Nwankwo, who is a Consultant obstetrician and gynaecology at Esut Teaching Hospital, Parklane,Enugu  also  encourage every  member of the community to spread the good news about this initiative, while assuring that together, the foundation can create a supportive environment that empowers our youth and honors my father's legacy.


He further thanked everybody for their  supports as the foundation embarks on this meaningful journey to uplift AKiyi community through education.


Some of the benefiting students who could not hide their excitement assured the foundation of judicious use of the fund even as they prayed to God to bless the donors  with wisdom and sound health. 


The ceremony was for the 2024/2025 and first edition of the Ezenwaeze Foundation’s scholarship scheme for the best 5 students from Akiyi-Umulokpa.
