Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi has dissociated himself from a viral Facebook post purportedly quoting him as saying that the All Progressives Congress (APC) should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
Onyishi, in a statement shared on his social media page, described the claim as untrue and urged the public to disregard the purported statement.
“It has come to my knowledge that there is a viral Facebook post which claimed that I said that APC should be held responsible if I die. Why? Count me out of this statement, please,” he stated.
The academic and politician further said that those circulating the claim were unfamiliar with his political history, stressing that his involvement in the development of the APC in Enugu State was well established.
“The history of APC cannot be written in Enugu State without a page left for me,” Onyishi said.
He also appealed to politicians not to use his name in connection with their 2027 political activities, noting that he was currently content with his career as a teacher.
“These politicians should not use my name for their 2027 politics, please. I am satisfied today as a teacher. I have found where I belong,” he added.
Onyishi concluded the statement by expressing gratitude to God.
