The Enugu Union in Nottingham City, United Kingdom, has held its end-of-year event, aimed at bringing together all Enugu Indigenes from across Nottingham City to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and explore new opportunities in the coming year.
The event, which took place on Saturday, 21st December at St Jude Hall Mapperley 405 Woodborough Rd. NG3 5HE was an exciting blend of Enugu culture, networking and celebration.
The event which was open to every Enugu Indigene and friends of Enugu State in Nottingham provided an opportunity for members to network and carry-out cultural displays as well as discussions on topics relevant to the Union.
With its primary goal of connectimg all Enugu Indigenes in Nottingham, the end of year event also provided an opportunity for members to share experiences and discuss future opportunities.
With over 40 participants, including professionals in various fields of life, businessmen and women, the end of year celebration recorded a huge success as Members discussed ways of strengthening the Union.
Speaking to Enugupress.ng from his base in Nottingham City shortly after the event, Comr. Chinedu Okoro, popularly known as Larry Popo, commended the chairman and vice Chairman of the union, Mr. Innocent Eze and Mr. Chris Ene for their exemplary leadership at the Union, while also lauding the efforts of the Chairman planning committee, Mr Kelvin Ugwonna and Mr Chika Ogbodo, for giving the event a touch of excellence.
Mr. Larry Popo also expressed gratitude to all the mothers & women who graced the occasion, while praying that next year's event will give the union a greater experience.
"This is more than end of year celebration. It is a golden opportunity for us to connect and review the contributions of Enugu people in Nottingham. it also afforded us an opportunity to plan for a prosperous new year Ahead". said Larry Popo.
Attendees during the event include Mr. Kelvin Ugwonna, Chairman Planning Committee; Mr. Innocent Eze, Chairman of the Union; Mr. Chris Ene, Vice Chairman of the Union; Mr. Chudi Mbazi, Mrs Cordelia llouno, Mr. Ike Nwachukwu, Mr. Chika Ogbodo, Mrs. Chidinma Onyiah, Mr. Chinedu Agu, Mr. Ik Alajemba and Chief Austin Akahalu.
Others were: Mr. Uchechukwu & Family, Mr. Azunna Onoh, Mr & Mrs. Martin Ugwoke, Mr. Jeff Ugwu, Mr. Charles Ukwuani, Mr. Patrick Ede, Mr. MC Jonas Okonkwo, Mr. Innocent Igwe, Mr. Larry Popo, Mr. Remi Onyia, Mrs. Faustina Ogoamaka Ozor, Mr. Thomas Zeigbo, Mr. Michael Okoro, Mr. Peter Attama and Mrs. Faith Ogbah.
Friends of the participants who were also in attendance include Lawrence Adoze, Samuel Eze, Chris izu and Ogbo Okolo.
