Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, KSJI, has been sworn in for a second term as the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, alongside his deputy, Hon. Chidiebere Iyianyi.
The swearing-in ceremony was held today, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Enugu State Lion Building, in the presence of political leaders, party stakeholders, friends, family members and well-wishers.
Asogwa’s return for another term follows his victory in the September 26 Enugu State Local Government elections, where he was declared winner of the Nsukka chairmanship election.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah charged the newly sworn-in council chairmen to put the welfare of the people at the centre of their administration.
The governor also urged them to remain accessible and accountable, manage public funds responsibly, and prioritise critical sectors such as education, healthcare and other areas capable of improving the living conditions of residents and reducing poverty.
Meanwhile, a reception is currently underway at Adada House, Nsukka, where friends, political associates, supporters and well-wishers have gathered to celebrate Asogwa’s commencement of a second term in office.
