The Chairman of Enugu State Traditional Ruler Council, HRM Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Igwe Ogadagidi), has congratulated the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Lagos State, Oba Folarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, on his appointment and assumption of office as Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo, and conferment of a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree by the institution.
Oba Ogunsanwo performed his first official duty as Chancellor of LASU on Wednesday, following his appointment in February 2026, during which he also received his Professional Doctorate in Business Administration at the university’s combined 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremonies in Lagos.
In a statement issued in Enugu on Thursday, Igwe Asadu congratulated the monarch and expressed optimism that his appointment would bring added value and immense growth to the institution.
Igwe Ogadagidi also congratulated the Alara of Ilara Kingdom for the conferment of a Professional Doctor of Business Administration degree, describing it as inspirational and a remarkable academic achievement.
He said the Royal Father has demonstrated that leaders should continue to acquire education irrespective of their age to enable
to stay relevant, make smart choices, and adapt to new technology.
"I congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as Chancellor of LASU.
"Your wealth of experience and wisdom will add value as well as guide the university to greater heights.
"Also, the successful completion of your PhD programme and the conferment of a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree by LASU is a testament to your commitment to learning and quality leadership," Igwe Asadu said.
Igwe Asadu, who is the immediate past chairman of the South East Traditional Ruler Council, and the Traditional Ruler of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for appointing Oba Ogunsanwo as the Chancellor of the University.
Igwe Ogadagidi prayed to God to give Oba Ogunsanwo more wisdom, good health, and success in his new position; this was even as he urged the university management team, staff and students to give him their maximum support.
