Junior Pope immortalized by Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter as they celebrate the Groundbreaking of Junior Pope Nollywood City at Ako Nike, Enugu East LGA. During the opening address, Chairman, AGN, Enugu State Chapter, Prince Brown Ene, said this Groundbreaking was the first of its kind in the history of AGN, Enugu State Chapter. "We honour the memory of our late colleague, Junior Pope Odo nwodo, by beginning a project that will provide affordable land for Nollywood practitioners and establish the Junior Pope Creative Hub and the AGN Zonal and Enugu State Secretariat here in Enugu State."
Prince Ene further thanked the government of Enugu State, led by Gov. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, "We sincerely appreciate the support of the Enugu State Government." He also thanked the national President, Prince Emeka Roller, (MON), and the AGN National President Elect, Alhaji Abu Abubakar. The State Chairman also appreciated HRH, Igwe Edwin Edoga, Eze Attah 1 of Mba Anọ Kingdom, and all his kingdom for their love and cooperation.
National President Prince Emeka Rollers, (MON), in his address emphasized the welfare of guild members who've contributed to the country's economic growth, "Junior Pope Nollywood City is a practical demonstration of the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s commitment to the welfare of its members. For too long, actors have contributed immensely to Nigeria’s cultural identity without adequate institutional support. Today, we say clearly that the welfare of our members is not a slogan — it is a responsibility."
He further expressed his hope for the project, "Through this project, Nollywood practitioners will have access to affordable land ownership, and the Guild will establish the Junior Pope Creative Hub and permanent AGN Zonal and Enugu State Secretariat. This means training, administration, and creativity will now have a physical home in Enugu State."
AGN National President Elect, Alhaji Abu Abubakar, encouraged every AGN member to support every good idea that'll uplift member welfare.
The climax was the presentation of three land allocations to the three sons of Late Junior Pope to the wife, Mrs. Jennifer Odonwodo. She was excited and thanked the guild, praying that all good intentions regarding her husband's immortalization will come to pass.
The Igwe and stakeholders joined in laying the block. AGN stakeholders expressed joy and prayed other state chapters would follow suit.
