The Peter Mbah Continuity Group (PMCG), a diaspora-supported pro-Mbah political support group, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, decorated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as the Grand Patron of the group.

The occasion, which took place at the Enugu International Conference Centre, also witnessed the inauguration of PMCG’s State, three Zonal, 17 Local Government and 260 Ward Executive Committees across the State, with newly inaugurated executives charged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and canvassing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ceremony attracted prominent political leaders, senior government officials, traditional rulers, party stakeholders and thousands of enthusiastic members and supporters of the group.

In his address, the Convener and Global Coordinator of PMCG, Asst. Prof. Dr. Martilord Ifeanyichukwu (MBBS, PhD), said the broad-based structure was established to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen awareness of Governor Mbah’s development agenda across the 260 wards of Enugu State.

Dr. Ifeanyichukwu explained that PMCG was formed by patriotic Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora who, having observed the performance of Governor Mbah during his first three and a half years in office, resolved to support his administration and its development agenda.

According to him, the mandate of PMCG goes beyond political mobilisation, as the group is also committed to translating government policies, programmes and achievements into simple and understandable language for ordinary citizens, while serving as a bridge between the government and the people.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Mbah and the Secretary to the State Government, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Matters, Hon. Barr. Mrs. Olangwa Ezekwu, commended PMCG for its support and commitment to the administration.

She described PMCG as the first diaspora-supported group to establish physical, on-the-ground grassroots structures across the State, noting that the initiative represented a significant step towards strengthening communication and engagement between the government and the people.

The Governor’s representative urged the newly inaugurated executives to embark on vigorous grassroots mobilisation and canvassing, with a view to securing massive support and votes for all APC candidates in Enugu State in the 2027 general elections.

She further reiterated the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, security, economic transformation and other initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across the State.

In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Dr. Luke Mgboh, commended PMCG for its commitment to Governor Mbah and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dr. Mgboh assured the group of the Senator’s continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the party, deepening grassroots engagement and mobilising support for Governor Mbah and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Emeka Ajogwu; Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Hon. Dr. Yomi Jaye; former Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA and former Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Dr. Peter Andy Omeje; and the APC candidate for Igbo-Eze South State Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Favour Asogwa, commended the leadership of PMCG for establishing what they described as a broad-based and strategic grassroots structure.

They noted that the extensive structure would provide an effective platform for taking the achievements of the Mbah administration directly to the people, strengthening grassroots engagement and mobilising support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Chief Frank Anioma, formally inaugurated the executives on behalf of the Governor.

Chief Anioma commended PMCG for what he described as its deliberate effort to promote new faces and broaden political participation across the State. He charged the newly inaugurated executives to remain united, peaceful and focused in the discharge of their responsibilities, urging them to work collaboratively across the State, Zonal, Local Government and Ward structures.
