A Chieftain of the All progressives Congress (APC), Amb. Ejike Eze on Saturday revalidated his membership with the party at Echara/Isi-Agu ward in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Eze who commended the State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah for aligning the state with President Bola Tinubu's administration, and the ruling party at the centre expressed confidence that the APC which currently controls three out of the five south-east states, would win all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
He said that the perception of APC in Enugu State and the entire Southeast has undergone a complex shift from near-total rejection to a more viable and acceptable party, insisting that the defection of Gov Mbah and his likes added value to the party in the area.
"It's a thing of joy for me to see how happy our people are in embracing APC and registering their membership with the party.
"The perception that the party is hostile to the southeast region is now a thing of the past as our people are now having a real sense of belonging and witnessing more federal appointments and empowerments.
"Governor Mbah who is performing wonders in Enugu State played smart politics by connecting the state to the centre when he defected from the PDP to APC, and with the way things are going now APC will win and dominate South-East in the 2027 general election," he said.
Eze, a retired career diplomats, and the Senatorial Candidate of APC in Enugu North Senatorial District in the 2023 general election, expressed special appreciation to Governor Mbah, and the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Mr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze for their effective leaderships in the state and in the local government, as well as other stakeholders of the party in the area for their support.
He assured the participants that the registration process is free, simple, and transparent, urging them to disregard misinformation and encourage their family members, friends, and supporters to take part in the exercise.
In a remark, Ukwueze (the LG Boss) who witnessed the flag off of the e-registration exercise of the party commended Amb. Eze for his leadership role and urged him to keep it up.
The chairman also commended the people of Echara/Isi-Agu ward for turning out in their numbers for the flag off of the party membership e-registration, assuring them that his administration would continue to deliver on his campaign promises to the people.
Also, Mr Ejike Amedo, APC Acting Chairman in Igbo-Eze South LG APC acting Chairman in Igbo-Eze South, said that the administrations of Governor Mbah and Ugwueze are determined to turn around the fortune of the people through people-oriented governance.
He commended the people for coming out en masse and urged them to ensure they all register with the APC the ruling party so that they would get more dividends of democracy.
Hon. OBIORA Aleke, a party stakeholder commended the LG Chairman and other party stakeholders for their efforts in repositioning the party in the area, adding that joining the party at the centre is one of the best things that has happened to Enugu State.
Mrs Christiana Ugwuoma, Echara/Isi-Agu APC ward Chairperson assured that they will continue to sensitize and mobilize party faithful to come and register and obtain their membership card.
