Chairman of Enugu Traditional Rulers Council Mourns Buhari's Death

The Chairman of Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Samuel Asadu, (Igwe Ogadagidi) has expressed profound grief over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari who passed away on Sunday at the age of 82.

Igwe Asadu in his condolence message on Monday to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the late ex-president’s family, the entire Daura Emirate and the people of Katsina State, said that the Nation has lost a very disciplined and incorruptible patriot who contributed immensely to nation-building.

The monarch who is the traditional ruler of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka LGA of Enugu State, and the immediate past chairman  Southeast Council of Traditional Rulers, as well as Member, Board of Trustee Council of Traditional Leaders of Africa (Nigeria Chapter), urged the family and close associates of the former president to bear the loss with courage and faith. 

“Buhari will be remembered for his discipline, truthfulness, incorruptibility, committed servant leader, as well as his immense contributions to national development.

"Both as a military Head of State and democratic elected President, Buhari demonstrated a high sense of honesty and patriotism while discharging his duties with zero tolerance for corruption," the monarch said.
"On behalf of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, I extend my heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Buhari's family, Datura Emirate and the good people of Katsina State.

"I urged the family of the former president, his close associates, the entire Datura Emirate,
and Nigerians in general to bear the loss with courage and faith," he said.

The traditional ruler prayed for the peaceful repose of the late president’s soul and strength and comfort to his family, loved ones and Nigerians during this difficult time.
