…Says Membership Spans 17 LGAs and 260 Political Wards Across Enugu
The Peter Mbah Continuity Group (PMCG), a pro-Peter Mbah grassroots and diaspora movement, has reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising widespread support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Hon. Frank Anioma (Ezesinachi), where its leadership presented the organisation’s grassroots structure and reaffirmed its support for the Mbah administration and its development agenda.
Speaking during the visit, the Director General of PMCG, Dr. Martilord Ifeanyichukwu, commended the Governor’s administration for what he described as purposeful leadership, citing the establishment of Smart Schools, Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, road infrastructure, improved security initiatives and efforts to attract investments to the state.
Dr. Martilord said the impact of the administration’s programmes was increasingly being felt across communities, noting that PMCG had adopted the message “Tomorrow Is Here” as part of its grassroots mobilisation campaign.
He disclosed that the group had activated its structures across all 17 Local Government Areas and 260 political wards of Enugu State, with Local Government and Ward Coordinators actively engaging residents and mobilising support at the grassroots.
According to him, PMCG’s mobilisation efforts cut across various segments of society, including market women, youths, students, artisans, traditional rulers and members of the diaspora. He added that the group was combining grassroots engagement with online advocacy to promote the administration’s achievements and counter what it described as false narratives.
The DG assured Chief Anioma that PMCG would work closely with his office to strengthen political mobilisation ahead of 2027, pledging to mobilise, sensitise and protect the group’s political mandate at the grassroots.
“With your office leading the political charge and PMCG mobilising at the grassroots, victory in 2027 is assured. His Excellency, Governor Mbah, has started well; let him finish well. We are 100 per cent behind him,” Dr. Martilord said.
His position was corroborated by the PMCG Coordinators for Udi, Awgu and Enugu North Senatorial District, Hon. Calistus Onyia, Engr. Chukwunwike Chukwu and Hon. Solomon Gwiyi, respectively, who expressed confidence in the group’s grassroots structure and pledged continued support for the continuity agenda.
Responding, Chief Frank Anioma commended PMCG for its organisation, discipline and commitment to grassroots mobilisation. He urged the group to intensify its engagement across communities and continue communicating the achievements of the Mbah administration, assuring the group of his office’s continued collaboration ahead of the 2027 elections.
