As Nigerian Christians join others around the world to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ today, public officials, politicians and other public spirited individuals across Enugu state have released goodwill messages, preaching peace, love, unity and tolerance.
A Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Legal Matters, Barr. Osinachi Nnajieze, tops the list of leaders who have congratulated Christians on Christmas.
Barr. Nnajieze In a message he personally signed on Christmas eve and Sent to Veteran Magazine, thanked the people of the state for their supports for Governor Peter Mbah's administration in the year 2024, while urging them to replicate similar feat in 2025 as the Governor would continue making the state proud with more mind-blowing projects in the coming year.
His words: "Seasons Greetings to Ndi Enugu! May I thank you for your supports for His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in the year 2024.
"Let us take this invaluable support a notch higher in the year 2025 because, despite all the giant strides the Governor has made so far, Governor Mbah is only just beginning.
"So, you can only imagine what else he is bent on achieving for our state and our people in the coming year and beyond. Merry Christmas", Barr. Osinachi said.
In his own message, Rt. Hon. Dr. Martins Oke, Member Representing Uzo Uwani/Igboetiti Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber reminded christians to remember the reason for the season. He further stressed that the celebration offers christian across the world an opportunity to inspire hope and spread the message of love, peace and harmonious coexistence among one another
Oke also used the opportunity to commend the Executive Governor of the state, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his numerous accomplishments in office within one and half year in office.
"On this premise, I write to celebrate with the people of Igboetiti and Uzo Uwani Federal Constituency, on the auspicious occasion of celebration of birth of our Lord saviour, Jesus Christ.
"I also wish to use this medium, On behalf of my family and constituents, to extend my heartfelt greetings to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of our dear State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the occasion of celebration of Christmas in the state", Dr. Oke said.
For the Deputy Chief Whip of Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Uzo Uwani State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Martins Ekwueme, he lauded Governor Peter Mbah's accomplishments in 2024, while also thanking the people of Uzo Uwani State Constituency for their supports in 2024.
"On behalf of my family, friends and the entire people of my Constituency, I write to extend my heartfelt wishes to His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on the occasion of celebration of Christmas.
"I also want to use this medium to salute the people of my constituency for their steadfastness, prayers and supports throughout the passing year. To this end, I pray that the Almighty God shall continue to reward all your efforts."
Similarly, Hon. Patrick N Ubru, Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-industrialization in Enugu State has congratulated Christins across the state, on the occasion of celebration of Christmas. The commissioner prayed for peace, happiness and love during the celebration.
His words: "SEASON'S GREETINGS! Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with love, laughter, and warmth. May this holiday season bring you peace, happiness, and many special moments with those you hold dear.
"Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year!", he said.
A Chairmanship Aspirant in the Just concluded Local Government and Councilorship election in Enugu state, Comr. Chinedu Okoro, popularly known as Larry Popo, has sent Christmas greetings to the Executive Governor of the State, Dr. Peter Mbah, on the occasion of celebration of Christmas.
Larry Popo in his message, had commended the governor for his dedication to bettering the fortunes of the state, while praying that the spirit of the season inspire him to continue his noble work in service to the people of Enugu.
"On behalf of my family, I write to extend my heartfelt greetings to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of our dear State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the occasion of celebration of Christmas.
"Your Excellency, your relentless commitment and tireless efforts towards the advancement of Enugu State have not gone unnoticed.
"Through your visionary leadership, you have made significant strides in enhancing the welfare of our citizens, fostering unity, and driving sustainable development", Larry Popo said.
In his own message, the President General of Akiyi-Umulokpa Town Union, Chief Engr. Malachi Chukwuebuka Anikwe, has sent out Christmas greetings to the Executive and entire people of Akiyi Umulokpa Town Union, while praying for God's love, peace and sacrifice as Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Christ.
Chief Malachi also used the opportunity to commend the developmental projects of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State in the year 2024, while assuring the governor of the community's supports in the coming year.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY prosperous NEW YEAR in advance to Akiyi Town Union and its Executive Members.
"May this season, the birth of Christ to be precise, bring us love, happiness and understanding to see ourselves as brothers and sisters in Akiyi-Umulokpa.
"Meanwhile, the Akiyi Town Union Executives, on behalf of the entire people of Akiyi, extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Peter Mba, for his outstanding commitment to the development of Enugu State in the passing year," Chief Anikwe said.
