MD Oshiamen: The Early Bird

By,

Ayewa Eraolei Felix

Let me begin by trashing all ambiguity while tying this piece to the apron string of simple and everyday registers. For the first time, Owan East Local Government Area has registered the highest number of "Happy-Go-Lucky" Politicians in positions of authority since the Nation's return to democratic rule. Before I proceed, who are the Happy-go-lucky Politicians? They're that species of cheerful politicians who are unconcerned about the future. This is the cosmogony that has gained preeminence in the current body of Owan politics, and the antithesis of their existence and dominance is a visible bizarre.

We are told that an early bird is someone who wakes up early in the morning, often before the sun rises or before most people start their day. They tend to be more productive, alert, and active during the early hours. In another close context, an early bird could also mean a person who takes action early, before others do, often having an advantage or gaining an opportunity that others might miss. In this sense, an "early bird" refers to someone who seizes opportunities promptly, acts ahead of others, or is proactive. That is who the Managing Director of Edo State Skills Development Agency, otherwise known as Edo Jobs, Kerimu Kelly Shehu Oshiamen is, and absolutely nothing to add to it.

Moreover, the bird that will do well, according to the African sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is easily known; it doesn't build its nest on the roadside for passersby to cart away its eggs. It is also scriptural that every man will be rewarded according to the work of his hands, but not all men abide by this aphorism. While the statewide celebrated MD is cultivating his vineyard politically, the Happy-go-lucky class of opportunistic politicians are busy insulting the sensibility of the electorate, flouting the natural law of retribution, and neglecting the imminent boomeranging effects of their inactions.

MD Oshiamen has proven to be his own man and a development enigma in his own class. He has shown a clear-cut mastery of the game by cutting the microcosm of Owan East's political landscape into sizes, attending to contending issues, and securing a brighter political future for the youths. Oshiamen's masculinity in administrative performance has emasculated his critics, lancing their mouths and relegating them to the background because, at first, their argument was unfounded and frivolous.

History will remain versatile, and the place of MD Oshiamen will forever remain fertile. The Jagaban of Afemai Land, Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Lawani, himself is quoted as saying to MD Oshiamen, "This is just the beginning. You will go far because your hands are clean and your heart is raw gold. Do not be afraid; the Almighty Allah is with you, and the leadership of Owan land is with you sufficiently." That is the comment from he who holds the four aces of the game in our clime.
