UNN to host Int'l conference on sustainable clean energy

...Calls for papers

The Leader of Sustainable, Clean and Emerging Energy Technologies Research Group (SCEET-G), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Engr Prof Edmund Okoroigwe has announced that the University will host the 2025 International Conference on Sustainable, Clean and Emerging Energy Technologies.

Engr Okoroigwe who is also the Coordinator of the conference, disclosed this in Nsukka at the weekend while briefing newsmen on the preparations for the conference that would hold in UNN from 9 - 15 November 2025, with the theme; ”New Energy Technologies for Sustainable Development”.

He said the conference organised by SCEET-G in collaboration with the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Abuja would bring together researchers, academia, industrialists, government stakeholders, and investors in clean energy systems to network, collaborate and discuss new frontiers to solving global and local energy problems.

According to Prof Okoroigwe, the conference would be attended by over 100 participants physically and virtually from different parts of the world and would provide collaborative opportunities to network and share knowledge on new energy technologies for Sustainable and national development. In addition, during the conference, there will be a special training workshop on PV Design, Installation and maintenance for the final year students of the Faculty of Engineering , UNN, as a way of empowering the graduating students as they enter the job market. This training will be anchored by the Advanced School of Power, Oil and Gas (ASPOG), Lagos and AEDJAC Systems Development and Laboratory Ltd, UNN.
Okoroigwe, who is from the Department of Mechanical Engineering UNN and an Anglican Cleric named Engr Dr Anthony Ekedegwa, the Director General, NAEC, as the Chairman of the conference.

He also listed Engr Dr L.O. Nwobodo, the Ag Managing Director SEDI, Enugu; Prof Ho Soon Min, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, International University, Malaysia; Prof Omawunmi Longe, University of Johannesburg, among others as Keynote Speakers.

"We are calling on interested participants and authors to start submitting their papers as the paper submission deadline will be on 30th October 2025.

“The conference will enable participants to advance frontiers of new energy technologies for sustainable and national development," he said.
