A leading real estate developer, My Eya Homes, has stated that the company's ongoing construction of an ultra modern market, popularly known as "Ogige Merchandise Zone" in Nsukka LGA, Enugu State, was aimed at complementing the urban renewal drive of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State.
The real estate firm also noted that the project which commenced a few months back in Nsukka LGA which remains the commercial hub of Enugu Senatorial zone, was designed to stimulate the economic growth of the district.
Located beside John Cross Seminary School in Nru, Nsukka, and spans over a vast 5. 5 hectare expanse, the development is envisioned as a fully integrated commercial and service centre, featuring trading spaces, a commercial bank spaces, schools, a hospital, and a police station.
In a message sent to Enugupress.ng by the Managing Director of the real Estate Firm, Chinedu Eya, he explained that contrary to speculations, the central goal behind the ongoing Modern market construction, was to complement government efforts in providing alternative markets for traders in Nsukka LGA and Enugu North senatorial zone in general.
His words: "We are not in any form of competition with anybody, not even government. As a matter of fact, we are here to complement government efforts and boost our local economy.
"Also note that our driving force is to create an alternative market for the traders. And this does not in any way, affect construction of other markets across Nsukka LGA.
"In fact, just like the saying goes, 'the more, the merrier.' We welcome other initiatives of sort as we hope to develop Nsukka together ", Eya said.
