JUST IN: *Uzo Uwani Council Boss Receives Double Award, As Ward Councilors, Administrators, Stakeholders, Pass Votes of Confidence in Ezugwu's Administration*

 


 

There was a beehive of activity in Nkpologu, the country home of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, Executive Chairman of Uzo Uwani LGA as several groups, including the Councilors' forum, Forum of administrators in the council, among others, thronged the LG chairman's residence on courtesy calls. 


During the visit which took place on Monday, June 2, 2025, two renowned groups - Uzo-uwani Unity Forum, led by their leader, Ozor Mathias Ajogwu (Wowo) and the Enugu State Students' General Assembly, led by their  president, Comr. Inyaba Chibuike, presented awards of recognition and excellence to the Council chairman. 


The two groups in their separate speeches, extolled the Chairman's leadership style since taking over the reigns of power in the local council, eight months ago. 


Speaking on behalf of Uzo Uwani Unity Forum, Ozor Mathias, who described the council chairman as "an enigma", however, applauded Ezugwu's all-inclusive leadership style, while praying that God will continue to bless and protect his administration.


In his remarks, the secretary to the local Government Area, Hon. Casmir Ademu Esq, described the chairman as Mr. Project and Appointment General, while thanking God for bringing him to serve Uzo-uwani people, noting that "the chairman is not a stranger in Uzo-uwani politics."


In his own address, Comr. Inyaba who led the student body, described the chairman as "a good man who understands the feelings of his people, while  assuring Ezugwu of the support of the student body at all times.

Meanwhile, the sixteen (16) ward Councilors of Uzo-uwani Legislative council, led by their leader, Hon. Christian Nwabueze  as well as Forum of the Administrators of development centers in the LGA, led by their coordinator, Barr Fredrick Chike (Mbanano Zone), had earlier paid courtesy calls on the council chairman in his country home. 


The two bodies during the visit had lauded the Council Chairman's commitment in the development, unity and security of the LGA. 


Speaking on behalf of the Councilors, leader of the legislative House, Hon christian, had praised Ezugwu's achievements within eight months in office, highlighting his contributions to security, infrastructure, healthcare, human empowerment, education and grassroots development.


While declaring the legislators supports for the council boss, the legislative leader, described the Chairman's Leadership as one that has redirected the local government and garnered admiration even from naysayers. He however, called on stakeholders and community Leaders to support the chairman in his efforts to develop the council.


In his own remarks, a former leader of the legislative House, Hon. Philip Okoro, reiterated the legislature's support for the Chairman's administration, while stating their resolve to support the Chairman's second term in office. 


He  consequently moved a motion for vote of confidence in the LG boss, Barr Ezugwu for his examplary leadership. The motion was however, seconded by the former deputy Leader of the legislative House, Hon. Nwajiani Christopher.


Other Councilors who took their turns to eulogize the Chairman's excellent leadership in the council during the visit include: deputy Leader, Hon. Joakin Okafor and Hon.Philip Udeozor(Adaba/Nkume), Hon. Nnamdi Maxwell Okoro, Hon. Ekowa Patrick, Hon. Chidiebere Agu, Hon. Patrick Agada, Hon. Happiness Enejere, among others.

Similarly, speaking on behalf of administrators of the development centers in the LGA, Barr. Fred Chike, commended the chairman for his good works since his assumption of office, stressing that the administrators will continue to give him the needed supports.


Barr. Chike who stated that the loyalty of the Administrators to the çouncil chairman will not be in doubt, also used the opportunity to point out some of their challenges and recommended areas of improvements which the council Mayor, Barr Ezugwu  accepted to look into.


Other administrators including Hon. Sunday Aniagor, and Hon. Chiemelie Dieke also used the avenue to praise the Chairman for his efforts both in combating insecurity and provision of infrastructure. 


They assured that the Administrators' Forum will continue to support the chairman in all his policies and programmes, and consequently passed a vote of Confidence in the council Boss through a motion moved by Hon. Chiemelie Dieke(Adada Zone) and  was seconded  by Hon. Sunday Aniagor (Ogboli zone ). 


Other groups who paid courtesy visits to the çouncil chairman include Adaba Boys, and stakeholders from Akpugo-ezidike kingdom.


Those in attendance during the visits include  Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon.Prince Emeka Orokoh, SPA Political, Hon.Felix Ozota, SSA on Security, Dr.Anayo Odimkpa, Secretary to Uzo-uwani Unity Forum, Hon. Johnson Oboduzo; Honourable Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Mathias Okeke; Chief of Protocol, Hon. Amaechi Ezike; Hon. Igwe Benjamin Odimkpa; Hon. Ayogu Elochukwu(Bonty), Hon. Chris Dieke, Ozo Julius Ezema, Ozo Ikechukwu, Okeh among others.
