A group of political allies and friends of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has described the former Deputy Senate president as a 'Quintessential political leader who has lifted thousands from the valleys of despair to the highlands of hope and success.'
The group which also described Sen. Ekweremadu as "most unassuming leader, a man with a heart of gold, and the founder of Ikeoha Foundation", also stressed that true leadership is measured by how an individual is able to improve on the lives of people around him as well as his immediate communities.
In a birthday message to the former ECOWAS Speaker, obtained by Enugupress.ng and signed by over 28 friends and associates of the Federal Lawmaker, the group stated that Sen. Ekweremadu's name looms large in the annals of Nigeria's modem constitutional development and electoral reforms.
Excerpts from the birthday message reads: "We celebrate a lawmaker par excellence, who, without any executive powers, influenced the execution of landmark and life-changing infrastructural projects to transform communities of Enugu State and beyond.
"We celebrate a man whose name looms large in the annals of Nigeria's modem constitutional development and electoral reforms.
"Your Excellency, weeping may endure for a night, but we are absolutely confident that joy will surely come in the morning.
"Happy 63rd birthday, Ikeoha Ndigbo. May the good Lord continue to preserve and strengthen you. Best wishes and lots of love from all of us," it read.
