Dr. Abubakar Kyari, Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, has visited Ansar Technology LTD, located at Marma village, in Kirkasama LGA of Jigawa state, as part of his familiarization tour of Agricultural farmlands and agric-businesses in the country.
The farmland which ranks as one of the biggest farms in the country, covers about 15 thousand hecters.
Enugupress.ng reports that the minister had visited the farm in preparation for 2023 dry season farming, so as to mitigate the issues of food security in the country.
He was however, received by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ansar Technology LTD., Alhaji Sani Friday Nnaji and his team, the villagers, Commissioner of Agriculture in Jigawa State and the deputy governor of the state.
Meanwhile, Ansar Technology, had recently struck a partnership deal with the Federal government of Nigeria, with the sole aim of developing and planting wheat and rice during this dry season, as well as to empower over ten thousand farmers in Jigawa state for cultivation of wheat and rice.
"Already, the company has enmarked and mapped out the KYC of these farmers, and they have already been profiled and have done their KYC.
"So the minister was very happy and had joyfully stated that the visit was his happiest day as minister, because he had seen with his eyes and not what he read in the newspapers," said the CEO of the company.
The minister had further stated that "my purpose of visiting the farmland was to certify that what he saw on the papers were reality", and that he has seen now seen the reality.
