The medical Director of Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital and head of Gburugburu Free medical surgery, Dr. George Ajogwu, was on the 27th of July, 2023, presented with an Awards of Excellence by the Uzo-Uwani Students Association at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The award, according to the student body was in recognition of Dr. Ajogwu's contributions, especially his free medical surgery on Indigent people of Nsukka zone and beyond, as well as his other humanitarian interventions.
"This is in recognition of your goodwill and humanitarian gestures, especially the free medical surgery you have been carrying out on Indigent people across Enugu," the students body noted.
In his response to the students, Dr. George Ajogwu expressed his gratitude and dedicated the Awards of Excellence to the former Governor of Enugu, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
"I am overwhelmed by this recognition, and it is an inspiration to work harder and touch more lives across Enugu. But I wish to make it clear to the world that I am dedicating this award to Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who is my father and mentor.
"This is my own way of saying thank you to him for all he has done for me," Ajogwu concluded.
