Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro, will serve a four-game ban after being sent off in the Red Devils’ Premier League 0-0 draw with Southampton on Sunday.
Casemiro got a red card in the first half of Man United’s goalless draw against Southampton at Old Trafford for his challenge on Carlos Alcaraz.
Referee Anthony Taylor initially gave the Brazil international a yellow card. However, after reviewing the incident on the VAR monitor, he upgraded it to a red card.
Casemiro has already been sent off in the Premier League this season as he was given a red card in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on February 4.
That means the former Real Madrid star, who has been helpful in Man United’s midfield, will be given a three-game suspension and will sit out a further match because of his previous red card.
This means that Casemiro will now miss Man United’s FA Cup tie at home to Fulham on March 19.
The 31-year-old will also be unavailable for Man United’s Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United, Brentford and Everton, respectively.
He, however, will be in line to return for Erik ten Hag’s side when they face Nottingham Forest in a Premier League tie on April 15.
