Reverend Isaac Adeniyi has assumed office as the substantive chairman of Accord Party after a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court ruling on the leadership tussle in the party.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Adeniyi described the court judgement as victory for democracy.
According to him, Accord Party has been under caretaker committee for about 14 years, hence, the need for the court to spell out the authentic chairman of the party.
He said modalities have already been put in place for a meeting with all leaders of the party nationwide to strategize for the 2023 general elections.
Speaking further, Adeniyi stated that the party planned to have a youth as its presidential candidate towards ensuring a peaceful, developed and prosperous Nigeria.
While calling on party members nationwide to remain calm and united, the chairman advised all aggrieved ones to drop their sword and work for the progress of the Party.
He expressed the hope that the party has all what it takes to emerge victorious at all all levels of governance in the 2023 general elections including that of presidential poll.
