The Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science & Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochi Udeh, SAN, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, have justified the confidence reposed in them by Nigerians through exemplary performance, visionary leadership and a demonstrable commitment to development-oriented governance.
Speaking at the Enugu East Senatorial Zone Mega Rally convened by stakeholders to endorse both leaders for a second term in office, Dr. Udeh extolled Governor Mbah's transformative leadership and strategic engagement with the Federal Government, noting that his deliberate efforts to reconnect Enugu State to the centre of national governance have yielded immense developmental dividends for the state.
The Minister described Governor Mbah as "the performing Governor of Enugu State" whose administration has become synonymous with innovation, infrastructure renewal, economic revitalisation and institutional reforms. According to him, the governor's pragmatic and non-partisan approach to governance has significantly elevated Enugu's visibility within the federal development ecosystem, attracting critical investments, strategic partnerships and unprecedented opportunities for the people.
"I stand here not alone but with members of the Federal Executive Council, including the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, and several heads of federal agencies. Their presence is a testament to the wisdom and foresight of Governor Peter Mbah in connecting Enugu State to the centre," the Minister stated.
Dr. Udeh observed that the fruits of this strategic alignment are already evident in the growing number of federal appointments, developmental projects and economic opportunities accruing to the state. He cited his own appointment as Minister, the emergence of an illustrious son of Enugu State as Chief of Air Staff, and the appointment of other qualified Enugu indigenes into strategic federal positions as tangible manifestations of the gains of constructive engagement with the Federal Government.
The Minister also used the occasion to commend President Tinubu for what he described as courageous, inclusive and transformational leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the administration has continued to demonstrate a firm commitment to equitable national development through strategic appointments, infrastructure investments and policies designed to stimulate economic growth and improve citizens' welfare.
Highlighting federal interventions currently impacting Enugu State, Dr. Udeh pointed to the deployment of solar-powered mini-grid projects across communities by federal agencies, employment opportunities facilitated through federal institutions, the concessioning of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, and ongoing efforts to expand gas infrastructure connectivity to the state.
He maintained that these initiatives are not merely projects but strategic enablers of industrialisation, energy security, enterprise development and sustainable economic transformation.
According to the Minister, the convergence of President Tinubu's national development vision and Governor Mbah's transformational governance model has created a unique opportunity for Enugu State to emerge as a leading hub of innovation, investment and prosperity in Nigeria.
"One good term deserves another. The people can see the results. They can see the projects. They can see the opportunities. They can see the deliberate efforts being made to improve lives and expand economic possibilities. That is why President Tinubu and Governor Mbah deserve continued support," he said.
Dr. Udeh further urged stakeholders, community leaders and support groups across Enugu State to translate their endorsement into effective grassroots mobilisation, stressing that continuity in leadership would consolidate ongoing reforms and accelerate developmental progress.
The rally attracted an impressive array of distinguished personalities, including former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo; former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani; APC National Deputy Chairman (South), Rt. Hon. Ben Nwoye; members of the National Assembly; members of the Enugu State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; local government chairmen; traditional rulers; clergy, academics and captains of industry.
The event climaxed with a unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah for a second term, as stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting leaders they described as embodiments of purposeful governance, strategic leadership and sustainable development.
