A Peoples Democratic Party's Chieftain and former Enugu North Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Chinedu Eya, has charged newly inaugurated commissioners from Enugu North senatorial zone, to justify their appointments as commissioners by placing public interests above their own personal interests.
Chief Eya who is also chief Executive officer and managing Director of My Eya Homes in Abuja, spoke at his Nsukka residence on Thursday, 17th of August, 2023, while responding to questions from newsmen, regarding the recent appointments of commissioners from Nsukka senatorial zone by the governor.
Eya, however, urged the appointees to allow their works speak for them, as that would be the only yardstick through which their admirers would come to know their zones, local governments and wards.
According to Eya: "I believe those appointed as commissioners from Enugu North Senatorial zone attained such heights on the basis of their excellent profiles.
"It is therefore, my message that they work to justify this call to service by allowing same speak for them.
"You know when they work so well, their admirers begin to ask where they come from. And when they do excellently, they place our zone on world map.
"So, I am sending you this message to tell them to work, as the reward for good work is more work, and more recognition of the zone by the world," Eya concluded.
Enugupress.ng reports that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, had recently appointed commissioners accross the 17 LGAs of Enugu state.
Those appointed from the zone include Pharmacist Chika Ugwoke— Nsukka; Nathaniel Urama— Igboeze North; Dr. Malachy Agbo— Igboetiti; Mr. Aka Eze Aka— Udenu; Patrick Ubru - Uzo Uwani LGA and Hon. Sunday Ajogwu - Igboeze South LGA.
