Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Thursday, 27th of July, 2023, forwarded a list of 15 commissioner-nominees to the Enugu State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Among the list of commissioner-Nominees forwarded to the state Assembly include Prof. Sam Chijioke Ugwu
Here is what you need to know about the new nominee.
Until his nomination, Prof. Sam Chijioke Ugwu was a former Chairman of Isiuzo LGA between 2008 and 2012. He was a former ALGON Chairman of Enugu state between 2010 - 2012, and also, a former Chairman governing council at the college of education, Zaria, between 2013 and 2015. The University Don was equally three times former Head of Department of Federal College of Education,Zaria
Professor Sam Chijioke Ugwu was a three times former Head of the Department of Political Science at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). He was also a one time Dean of faculty of social sciences.
The commissioner Nominee Joined Esut in 1992 and became a professor in 2009. He is a PHD holder in Political science. He has his second & third degrees in Political science. He obtained his Msc in Political science, with specialization in public administration. He also got his PhD in Political science with specialization in public administration.
Under Gburugburu administration, he became a JAC member and remains same till today. Professor Sam Chijioke Ugwu is also Current Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, ESUT.
