The traditional ruler of Akiyi-Umulokpa autonomous Community in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, HRH, Igwe Engr. V. I. A. Ekwedigwe (Ijagwo Akiyi-Umulokpa), has named high profile individuals, who are drawn from diverse backgrounds as members of the reverred Igwe Cabinet of the community.
The new cabinet members, who represent different Hamlets of the seven villages of Akiyi-Umulokpa autonomous Community will assist the traditional ruler in discharging his responsibilities as chief security and custodian of tradition and culture of the community.
Performing the inaugural ceremony at the Monarch's Palace, 0n 27th April, 2025, the traditional ruler extolled the cream of personalities that constitute the new Akiyi-Umulokpa cabinet, while encouraging members to braze up to the numerous responsibilities in Akiyi, especially in the areas of promoting our cultural heritage and encouraging good behaviour amongst our people.
Ijagwo who also emphasized on the importance of reawakening the interest and hunger of the community in education, however, unveiled the moto of the current cabinet to be known and addressed as - *Justice, Mercy and Honesty*
The 24 members of the cabinet who were inaugurated during the occasion include Hon Johnson Obodouzu (Palace Secretary), Dame Besslyn Onwubuya (Welfare Officer), Hon Chief Solomon Gwiyi (Publicity Secretary), Barr. Chief Vincent Chienyine (Legal Advisor), Chief Fidelis Nnakwo PhD (Financial Secretary), Dcn Benjamin Nonyelum (Treasurer), Ozor Uchenna Ndibe (Provost) and Hon Chief Celestine Chienyine (Ast Welfare Officer).
Other notable members of the cabinet include Dr. Chief Bartholomew Nwankwo, Dr. Chief George Chiamogu, Engr. Chief Bethram Ezechi, Chief Simeon Madukaife, Arc. Chief Linus Okonkwo, Engr. Chief Nicholas Nnakwo, Chief Ferdinand Okafor, Chief Ignatius Aniekeyi, PastorJude Udenkolo and Ozor Angel Victor Dubem.

The new cabinet during the event resolved that their meetings will be held quarterly (that is to say, three times in a year) which include months of April, August and Christmas season.
