The Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area and Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairman of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, Hon. Okechukwu Edeh, has been nominated for 22nd Nigerian local government Chairmen merit award.
The ALGON Boss was nominated alongside seven other members of the association in Enugu state such as Enugu East, Hon. Livinus Nze Anike; Igboeze south, Hon. Vitus Okechi; isiuzo, Hon. Barr. Obiora Obeagu; Ezeagu, Hon. Chukwudi Ozoeluba; among others.
The above chairmen's names were shortlisted by the organisers of the national award and published in the Daily Sun Newspapers of Tuesday, 19th September, 2023.
Enugupress.ng reports that the Chairmen were chosen on the basis of their Sterling performances in several categories which include provision of Rural Electrification, Agriculture, Portable Water Supply, Rural Health Care Delivery, Security, Education, Poverty Alleviation, Women Development, Sports Development, Transportation, Housing, Roads, Rural Integration among others.
The final list of successful candidates would be made public after nation-wide voting by Nigerians.
