The Executive Chairman of Isi Uzo local government Area, Hon. Bar. Obiora Obeagu, on 10th of August 2023, Organized a grand reception for Prof Samuel Chijioke Ugwu, following his inauguration as Commissioner by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, H.E Bar Peter Ndubuisi Mba.
The Reception which took place at Danic Hotels, New Haven, Enugu had in attendance stakeholders from Isi Uzo local government, Party faithfuls, Friends, Colleagues, well-wishers and good people of Isi Uzo local government.
Prof Sam Chijioke Ugwu who was recently assigned portfolio as Commissioner for Environment and climate Change by Governor Peter Mbah, also doubles as a Member Enugu state Joint Account Committee. He was a former Chairman of Isi Uzo local Government Area, and Dean Faculty of Social Sciences at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).
Prof Sam Ugwu who is Popularly known as Mr Due Process in his speech thanked the Executive Chairman of Isi Uzo local government Area for organizing such a warm reception for him. He also thanked the good people of Isi Uzo, friends, Colleagues and well wishers for coming out to celebrate him, while praying that God guide and lead them home safely.
The new commissioners for environment and climate change also used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Enugu State for giving him the opportunity to serve in his government. He promised to key into Bar Peter Ndubuisi Mba's Vision and Agenda of building a new Enugu State, while also charging the good people of Isi Uzo to support him with their prayers.
Prof Sam Chijioke Ugwu concluded his speech by promising to unite all the stakeholders of Isi Uzo local government as quickly as possible and also to use his good office in bringing all the desired changes and developments within his capacity to the good people of Isi Uzo local government area.
Some of the stakeholders in attendance were, Hon Augustine Nnamani (Ozoigbondu) PDP Chairman Enugu state; Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Ogechukwu Nnamani; Hon Jideofor Ebe, immediate past Commissioner for Commerce and Industry; Hon Azubike Odo, SLG Isi Uzo local government; Hon Irenus Nnaji, Leader Isi Uzo legislative Council; Hon Jacob Abonyi, Hon Ejike Egbogu; Chief Ona Anslem, Registrar SUMAS; Hon Sylvester Ugwuagbo, Prince Nnaemeka Ugwu, NEMEL Pharmaceuticals, Mrs Chika Ede, the Igwes, the PGs and other stakeholders too numerous to mention.
