KUDOS: Peter Obi Emerges “2022 Leadership Excellence Award” winner With 2.4M Votes After 14-Day Poll

The presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has emerged 2022 "Man of the Year in Leadership Excellence" Awards…beating BUA Chairman, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Afrobeat hit maker, Davido and Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, who had earlier stepped down and publicly endorsed him (Peter Obi) for the prestigious award.

An online voting organised by the Igbere TV, a frontline community TV in Nigeria, had staged   a 14-day Leadership Excellence Awards polls for all Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora via online platforms, in which Obi was voted ahead of three other nominees.

Obi defeated three other nominees to emerge winner of the voting which took place from August 1 to August 14, via online platforms.

He polled 2, 428, 403 votes to defeat the closest rival, Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, who polled 1, 124, 172 and popular Nigerian Afrobeat hit maker, David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido who polled 881, 766.

The fourth nominee, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, had earlier stepped down and publicly endorsed Peter Obi for the prestigious award.

Endorsed by the African Union, African Film Institute and others, the prestigious award will be presented in November 2022 in Abuja.

The prestigious award, which is the fourth in the series, is an annual event which recognises and honours outstanding impacts of leaders across public and private sectors in Nigeria.

The event promotes outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in Nigeria's political, social and economic scenes.

Peter Obi, a businessman of repute and two-term governor of Anambra State, in May, 2022, became the presidential candidate of the LP in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and has since then been wowing Nigerians with practicable ideas of steps to making the country great again.
